Stéphane Auvray

Stéphane has a proven track record of training high level players and helping them to achieve their very lofty soccer goals of playing college and professional soccer. His training sessions, game supervision, and coaching education continue to create the highest level of soccer training in the Central United States, through European Soccer Institute.

Background

The founder of European Soccer Institute (ESI) is Stéphane Auvray. He is a former French professional player.

He began his career with Stade Malherbe de Caen and after moved on to other professional teams such as Vannes OC, Nimes Olympiques Club, Sporting KC and NY Red Bulls.He went through the French Academy of Stade Malherbe de Caen, one of the best in France.

He played in great stadiums such as Stade de France, Le Stade Velodrome de Marseille , Soldier Field Chicago, against players like David Beckam, Olivier Giroud, Samir Nasri, Yohan Gourcuff, , Djibril Cisse, Haten Ben Arfa, Landan Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Michael Bradley, Thierry Henry, Rafael Marquez, Ryan Giggs, Berbatov, Nani, Scholes, Guardado, Giovani, Blanco, Altidore and many others.

He was a quarterfinalist in the French Cup 2008 against Marseille and a finalist in the French Cup league final in 2009 against Bordeaux.

Wanting to broaden his horizons Stéphane decided to leave France and join the MLS. In 2010 he signed with Sporting KC. After nearly two seasons and a memorable victory against Manchester United, he joined the NY Red bulls. At NY he had the privilege of playing alongside players such as Thierry Henry and Rafael Marquez . In that season his team made it to the playoffs semi-finals.

Stéphane, was also the captain of the Guadeloupe National team. He has 23 caps and participated in three Concacaf Gold cups. As the team's captain he was able to lead them to the semi finals in 2007 and the quarter finals in 2009. This earned him his nomination to the tournament's best eleven players.

Being the captain of his National team he showed leadership and tactical qualities that naturally guided him towards coaching.

Coaching was always something that interested him, especially after having had the benefit of being coached by great technicians such as Nasser Larguet, Jean-Michel Cavalli or Peter Vermes.

Holder of the French Football Federation coaching diploma's US Soccer A License, and United soccer coaches Premier Diploma and Director of Coaching, he is ready to put his skills to work.

He is a great believer in the "methode active" which in his opinion is a breath of fresh air that will teach soccer players how to use their full potential without being formatted. "It is the best way to experiment and improve unaccessed skills, while enjoying the game and make it enjoyable for the fans. Most of all it is the path to elite and professional soccer."
